Observation notes and response

-it is 8:30 a.m and I am in the student lounge
-there are 10 sets of tables with long chairs connected to them on each side
-I see my friend ashley she won't stop smiling at me it's funny
-there are 5 vending machines in here
-1 with snacks and the rest have drinks, the snack vending machine has another one connected to it so i guess it could be six
-there are 12 people in here including myself
-most of them are sitting alone doing work
-two tables have a couple sitting at it doing work
-people walk in and out frequently
-most of them to sit and do work or get something from the vending machines
-most people got drinks rather than snacks
-when people did get snacks the line was about 3 or 4 people long the line went down quickly though
-there are barrales by the door that u enter from one for cans plastic bottles and trash
-3 window in here
-alot of students walk by the door
-both couples at the tables are conversing
-everyone sitting alone is quiet
-there a copier in here
-clock in here
-tons of papers on the wall describing different events
-no one invading peoples personal space
-no smoking in here there is no smoking sign
-one girl walked in with skirt on very loud
-talking to a couple at one of the tables
-wish they would be quiet

I found the student lounge to be a place were students really just study. I observed at 8:30 a.m and thats what most students there were doing. The majority of student there were either reading or doing school work. The only sounds really being heard were couples talking or the vending machines moving. Other than that it is a quiet environment and a good place to study. I'm glad I chose to observe this area because I can actually focus. There was this one girl with unique style who I really focused on. She had on a skirt with  purple Chuck Taylors, a purple cardigan, she had really curly blonde hair, and she was extremely loud. She probably distracted other people in the room from their studying. She caught my focus so I'm sure she caught other peoples attention as well. Actually she did because my friend Ashley mentioned it to me as she was leaving. Overall this is a good place to study and chill out I think.

I returned to the Student lounge at 9:50 a.m and I seen the same unique loud girl there with the skirt on. I was surprised because this time she wasn't being loud. She was sitting by herself reading a book. Now the student lounge is packed with students and it's more loud. More students are conversing with each other. There are more couples at tables rather than students sitting alone.

Lay of the Land

This was a very good reading. I do not like to read and I enjoyed this reading. It didn’t put me to sleep or make me dread having to read it. The way the author explained everything was very helpful with keeping my attention. There were great details that I enjoyed. The way the author explained the men that were bowling on the bowling league teams. What the men were doing, how the men were talking, what tone of voice the men had, what they were wearing, and so on. All that detail and description was great and well thought out.
I especially like how she assumed one of the men liked wrestling and would probably be going home to watch wrestling after bowling. Then I thought she would forget to mention him again but she did towards the end of the reading. That kind of made me happy. The description used in the reading was useful. Also the description of what the bowling alley looked like, was good. It made me feel as though I was at the bowling alley. From the start of he writing until the end of the writing I felt as though I was at the bowling alley. This was interesting to me.

This is Kings Bowling Billiards & Lounge in Boston. It is a more uptempo bowling alley, than the one in the reading. I want to visit it one day, it is 21 plus. This reading made me think about how much I'm dying to go to this place.

Project Site *Chuck E. Cheese*

My project site is Chuck E. Cheese. I know that mostly young children go there to have a good time. Some older kids go there also, but that is a very slim amount. Most older kids like teens wouldn't pick Chuck E Cheese to go hangout at. Most of the time teens are there for birthday parties. A lot of children have there birthday parties there. They always serve delicious pizza and cake to the people having parties there . Chuck E and his band preforms for the kids at the parties. There are tones of games for kids to play and a jungle gym for them to explore. Some Chuck E cheeses have a ball pit and others don't. In order to play the games kids need tokens. Many kids go hunting for tokens when they run out I think it's hilarious. They play games to get tickets, wining tickets will give them the chance to win prizes. The more tickets kids have the better prizes kids can get.

I wonder what the ingredients is for the pizza they make? I love that pizza although I can't eat it and I'm not supposed to I still do when I have the chance. Who is the owner of Chuck E. Cheese? Who came up with the idea to invent Chuck E. Cheese? It's strange how an over sized Rodent can be so popular and kind of cute. I wonder if other Countries admire Chuck E. Cheese as much as the US? Are there even Chuck E. Cheese's in other Countries?

Iowa 80

I found Iowa 80 to be a very interesting read. The author used a lot of good detail in the reading. He was also very clear and descriptive about everything he explained. I felt as though I was at the truck stop with him the way he describe everything so vividly. I especially enjoyed reading about his interviews with the people at the Iowa 80. I like how he only used their responses and not his. If he had used his it wouldn't have been as interesting. The way he describes their facial expressions and their actions is very well done also. It gives me a great sense of what exactly is going on during his interview. Also it's nice how he described his surroundings, such as what he saw in the environment and the action of the people in the environment. Overall this was a very good reading that I very much enjoyed, which is surprising to me because I don't like reading.
